Vampires:

I’m starting to hate vampires and I think many of my friends here share the same feeling. You see in recent years Film and Television industry, many of the production companies focused on vampire stories, mainly to attract the vampires fans by giving them an attractive male vampire actor, while vampires logically can’t even be this attractive, because vampires are dead people -_-

I enjoyed many of the vampire movies because of their story, not for characters stripping off. and I can say for myself  that I’m a vampire fan as many people are. but the strange thing happened lately that many of teenagers started to like vampire stories because of how EMO and dull they’ve become. Not only vampires, Werewolves got their group of fans too. GOD! I wish I can see both of those groups in a fight to the death.

The main point here is understanding the creation of the vampire character that came from different mythologies, all of them tell us that vampires can’t be any good, by what they look or what they do. I’m not saying that having a good vampire character in a movie or a series is bad. because sometimes having a good bad ass vampire  that kicks the evil vampires asses is something I enjoy. What I mean is that the beginning of vampires movies was about the fight between creepy evil vampires drinking people’s blood and people fighting for their lives. I want to know what’s the first movie that had a good vampire character in it?

Zombies:

Simply, I think this is the only movie creatures that got the least changes over time in the movie business. Because you can’t have a good zombie movie or series. think about it, most movies now have made a “good” variation of any given creature, ghosts (for example “Casper”), Devils, genies, even Godzilla and King Kong. But, can we make a “good” zombie life series, or do would you watch a movie drama about a nice zombie having daily life problems?

Note: In the movie “Shaun of the dead” starting by my favorite British funny combo – Simon Pegg & Nick Frost –  And beware, this is a SPOILER. In the end of the movie, The city got to use zombies and made them do good works. So, if you want to say they were made into good characters, I’m sorry, you are wrong because they put cuffs on their legs and wrists so they won’t hurt any one. How nice they are now :)

So, zombies basically can’t be made into “good” characters. and what most people – including me – like about them is horror and surviving factors in zombie movies. That’s Why I was excited when I knew that there will be a Zombie series called “The walking dead by Frank Darabont who’s the Director of The Shawshank Redemption, The green mile and the Mist. How awesome can that be. I heard that it’s based on a comic series by the same title. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a clear video at Youtube. Here’s the trailer, Enjoy ;)

Either way, Zombies are creepy, and I’m becoming a bit creepy too by writing this :P

This is a single point of View and It doesn’t mean to concern other’s opinion.

The Walking Dead. I’m more excited that it’s based on the comic books than the fact that it’s directed by the same guy who did Shawshank Redemption.

Simply because the comics are amazing, and this will be THE zombie horror show/movie if they follow the story well.

thats true, zombies ARE the only horror movie creatures that remained EVIL, and they cannot be anything otherwise. i mean shows like Angel, or True Blood do portray vampires as being good, i think Blade also counfs, and Vampire Hunter D, even though he half a vampire technically :P
two zombie movies ive seen recently “land of the dead” and “astro zombies” the latter is an epic CLASSIC movie, that is rated one of the TOP bad movies of all time, a must watch in my book

Swera: I’m a True blood fan, there’s evil there :)
Greak: hopefully, this series will bring new material.

The Walking Dead is a more “realistic” take on a zombie apocalypse. The focus is on how the humans survive and what things they will do to survive. And it’s an interesting take, it doesn’t focus or go for happy endings, just realistic ones.

Have you guys seen the Thor trailer?

I used to love vampires until the new vampire love stories killed it for me! Vamps were supposed to be scary not love struck puppies!

I’m a fan of zombies, they are the last true survivors of horror. I hope they don’t get affected.
