Cirque Du Soleil is an entertainment group that originated from Canada. They’re pretty famous and they have a large number of different shows. Each one incorporates a different theme, performance, unique stage and setting, incredible music, sometimes singing, and a storyline. It is basically what you would get when you mix a very imaginative number of street performers with a high class opera in a blender. And yes, it blends. For example, in an effort to do a different kind of performance, “O” is done inside a huge/clear water container on stage. I’ve went to one of their shows, and if you’re ever in the US, definitely see if they are touring or go see them in Las Vegas.

Here is one of their recent stunts for the show “Kooza”, dubbed “Wheel of Death”. Full screen it and keep watching, it just keeps getting more ridiculous!

Ronnie James Dio passed away yesterday, after a long battle with stomach cancer. Often referred to as just “Dio”, he was most recognized for his powerful voice. His earlier bands were Elf and Rainbow, which he left to join Black Sabbath, replacing Ozzy Osbourne. He made three albums with them. Then went on to make his own band, Dio.

Dio had a cameo appearance in the awesome opening for the Tenacious D movie, the Pick of Destiny (<< epic video too), check it out:

Metallica’s album Death Magnetic was released in September 2008. Ever since that date and until 3 days ago I couldn’t take myself off the album. It was the center of my music. New albums by other bands were released, I listened, I passed, and the world moved on. None of the albums that came after Metallica’s masterpiece made it. None of them gave me the same dose of Metal\Rock substance that DM did. Bands like Disturbed, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Creed, Megadeth, Breaking Benjamin, Five Finger Death Punch, Flyleaf, AC/DC, Staind, Slipknot, P.O.D, and others which of course gonna slip my mind.

DM is my favorite Metallica album. This is pure metallica, the bare conclusion of their career. The summary of their performance.

This whole thing changed three days ago. I was checking news on the latest DC movie Jonah Hex; I noticed the metal band Mastodon is doing the soundtrack. I did hear of this band but I did not listen to any of their music. So, I gave them a chance. In the beginning I was sort of OK with their first album Remission.

The shock was the second album which was released in 2004. Leviathan, even the name suggests an Epic. And it was an epic journey which was inspired by the novel Moby Dick. The album is amazing. It consumed me, The riffs, the rythm, the drums, the lyrics. All were top notch. I loved the breaking downs and changing the rhythm in the middle of the songs. The album received ‘album of the year award’ from 3 major magazines Revolver, Kerrang!, and Terrorizer. This album got me off DM, at last. It stayed in my car for 3 straight days. It broke the record, and I’m very satisfied.
